On one hand, the lack of a sound basis of the phenomena encountered in daily life and routine actions which are repeated every day, and on the other hand, the solid reality of death which confronts human existence with their temporary content, urges people to question their existence. The intersection of the effort of individual for finding a just ground for the world of existence with the negative answer of phenomena is the basis of the concept \u201cnonsense\u201d of Albert Camus. The concept of \u201cnonsense\u201d first emphasises the reasonless nature of the world, and the effort for seeking a meaning in compliance with reason in the world of nonsenses of man. This quest for meaning brings about the prosiness of all reality other than death; thus, describes a general condition of humanity. Therefore, since ancient ages, in all kinds of narrations so far, the concept of nonsense took its place as one of the basic motives. In this paper is centred on the opinions of such philosophers as Albert Camus and Friedrich Nietzsche in terms of the concept of \u201cnonsense\u201d and five movies chosen from American cinema with purposeful sampling method were subjected to qualitative analysis. Bir yandan, g\u00fcnl\u00fck ya\u015famda s\u00fcrekli kar\u015f\u0131la\u015f\u0131lan olgular\u0131n sa\u011flam bir temelden yoksunlu\u011fu ve her g\u00fcn yinelenen rutin eylemler, \u00f6te yandan \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn, insan varl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 kendi ge\u00e7ici mahiyetiyle y\u00fczle\u015ftiren kat\u0131 ger\u00e7ekli\u011fi, ki\u015fileri kendi varolu\u015flar\u0131na ili\u015fkin sorgulamaya itmektedir. Bireyin, olu\u015f d\u00fcnyas\u0131na hakl\u0131 bir gerek\u00e7e arama \u00e7abas\u0131n\u0131n, olgular\u0131n olumsuz yan\u0131t\u0131yla kar\u015f\u0131la\u015fmas\u0131, Albert Camus\u2019n\u00fcn \u201csa\u00e7ma\u201d kavram\u0131n\u0131n temelini olu\u015fturmaktad\u0131r. Sa\u00e7ma kavram\u0131, \u00f6ncelikle yery\u00fcz\u00fcn\u00fcn nedensiz do\u011fas\u0131n\u0131, insan\u0131n anlams\u0131zl\u0131klar evreninde usa uygun bir anlam arama \u00e7abas\u0131n\u0131 vurgulamaktad\u0131r. Bu anlam aray\u0131\u015f\u0131, \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn d\u0131\u015f\u0131ndaki her t\u00fcrl\u00fc ger\u00e7ekli\u011fin yavan bulunu\u015funu getirmekte, b\u00f6ylece genel bir insanl\u0131k durumu betimlemektedir. Dolay\u0131s\u0131yla, eski \u00e7a\u011flardan beri, ortaya \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015f her t\u00fcrl\u00fc anlat\u0131da, sa\u00e7ma kavram\u0131, temel motiflerden biri olarak yer almaktad\u0131r. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada Albert Camus ve Friedrich Nietzsche gibi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerin, sa\u00e7ma ba\u011flam\u0131ndaki g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fleri merkeze al\u0131narak, Amerikan sinemas\u0131na ait, amaca y\u00f6nelik \u00f6rneklem y\u00f6ntemiyle se\u00e7ilmi\u015f, be\u015f film \u00f6rne\u011fi, niteliksel analize tabi tutulmu\u015ftur.
