However, this problem stems from the epistemological difficulty of defining \u201cphenomenon\u201d in social sciences. \u201cAudience research\u201d, \u201cdiscourse analysis\u201d and \u201ccritical approach\u201d traditions corresponding to \u201cpositivist\u201d, \u201cconventionalist\u201d and \u201crealist\u201d epistemologies in social sciences, express various perspectives in the relation between communication sciences and philosophy. Our article renders the idea that the inheritance of mass communication theory presents communication scientists with \u201ccomplicated perspectives\u201d on communication practices. Within this variety, it is asserted that communication sciences aspiring to position itself as a distinctive discipline is supposed to adopt a perspective making it establish a closer relationship with philosophy. Based on the fact that social sciences are not a science of \u201csocial facts\u201d but of \u201csocial phenomenon\u201d, it is asserted that communication sciences, being a scope of the phenomenon should always be in a close relationship with philosophy, being a scope of tenets. In this context, \u201crealist epistemology\u201d and \u201ccritical approach\u201d are suggested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Keywords: <\/strong> Communication sciences, Philosophy, Social sciences, Phenomenon, Epistemology.<\/p>\n<h1> Sosyal Bilimsel Bir Disiplin Olma S\u00fcrecinde \u0130leti\u015fim Bilimleri ve Felsefe \u0130li\u015fkisi <\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00d6z: <\/strong> Sosyal bilimler i\u00e7inde kendini \u00f6zg\u00fcn bir disiplin olarak geli\u015ftirme y\u00f6n\u00fcnde ilerleyen ileti\u015fim bilimleri, felsefe ile hen\u00fcz do\u011fru bir ili\u015fki kuramam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Fakat bu sorun, sosyal bilimlerde \u201colgu\u201dnun tan\u0131mlanmas\u0131na ili\u015fkin epistemolojik g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fckten gelen genel bir sorundur. Sosyal bilimlerdeki \u201cpozitivist\u201d, konvansiyonalist\u201d ve \u201crealist\u201d epistemolojilere kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k gelen \u201cizleyici ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131\u201d, \u201cs\u00f6ylem analizi\u201d ve \u201cele\u015ftirel yakla\u015f\u0131m\u201d gelenekleri, ileti\u015fim ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131n\u0131n felsefeyle ili\u015fkisindeki farkl\u0131 perspektifleri ifade eder. Makalemizde, kitle ileti\u015fim teorisinin b\u0131rakt\u0131\u011f\u0131 miras\u0131n, ileti\u015fim bilimcilere ileti\u015fim prati\u011fi \u00fczerine \u201ckarma\u015f\u0131k perspektifler\u201d sunmakta oldu\u011fu ortaya konulmaktad\u0131r. Bu \u00e7e\u015fitlilik i\u00e7erisinde, kendini \u00f6zg\u00fcn bir disiplin olarak konumland\u0131rma arzusundaki ileti\u015fim bilimlerinin onu felsefeyle yak\u0131n ili\u015fkiye sokacak perspektifi benimsemek durumunda oldu\u011fu \u00f6ne s\u00fcr\u00fclmektedir. Bunun dayana\u011f\u0131 olarak, sosyal bilimlerin k\u00f6kensel olarak bir \u201csosyal olgu\u201d bilimi de\u011fil, \u201csosyal olu\u015f\u201d bilimi oldu\u011fu ger\u00e7e\u011finden hareketle, olgular\u0131n alan\u0131 olan ileti\u015fim biliminin ilkelerin alan\u0131 olan felsefe ile her zaman yak\u0131n ili\u015fki i\u00e7inde olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fi s\u00f6ylenmektedir.
