Abstract: <\/strong> This study\u2019s subject is the May 14, 1950 elections in which political power has changed by national will. The aim of the study is to reveal the values that dominate politics discourse in this important election. The CHP, which was the ruling party of the period, and the speeches of the DP political actors in the period newspapers were examined in terms of values. In the research conducted with the content analysis method, the basic and upper level dimensions of the Schwartz Value Scale were used as the analysis categories. In this way, it was tried to determine the expectations and values of the CHP and DP politicians to convince the voters and the dominant value priorities of the period politics. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the values most frequently used in the discourse of political actors in the 1950 election were the values of self-management, success, benevolence, security, power and universality. When the discourses of the CHP and DP actors were compared in terms of basic values, it was seen that both parties put forward similar values but the order of priorities was different.<\/p>\n Keywords: <\/strong> Values, Policy, Election, Discourse, Turkey.<\/p>\n \u00d6z: <\/strong> Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma, millet iradesiyle iktidar\u0131n de\u011fi\u015fti\u011fi ilk se\u00e7im olarak T\u00fcrkiye siyasi tarihine ge\u00e7en 14 May\u0131s 1950 se\u00e7imini konu edinmektedir. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n amac\u0131 bu \u00f6nemli se\u00e7imde siyaset s\u00f6ylemine egemen olan de\u011ferleri ortaya \u00e7\u0131karmakt\u0131r. D\u00f6nemin iktidar partisi konumundaki CHP ve muhalefet partisi konumundaki DP\u2019li siyasal akt\u00f6rlerin d\u00f6nem gazetelerinde yer alan konu\u015fmalar\u0131 de\u011ferler a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan incelenmi\u015ftir. \u0130\u00e7erik analizi y\u00f6ntemiyle yap\u0131lan ara\u015ft\u0131rmada analiz kategorileri olarak, Schwartz De\u011fer \u00d6l\u00e7e\u011fi\u2019ndeki temel ve \u00fcst d\u00fczey de\u011fer boyutlar\u0131 kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu yolla CHP ve DP\u2019li siyasal akt\u00f6rlerin se\u00e7meni ikna etmek i\u00e7in hangi beklenti ve de\u011ferlere seslendikleri ve d\u00f6nem siyasetinin egemen de\u011fer \u00f6ncelikleri belirlenmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Analiz sonucunda 1950 se\u00e7iminde siyasal akt\u00f6rlerin s\u00f6ylemlerinde en s\u0131k kullan\u0131lan de\u011ferlerin kendini y\u00f6netme, ba\u015far\u0131, yard\u0131mseverlik, g\u00fcvenlik, g\u00fc\u00e7 ve evrensellik temel de\u011ferleri oldu\u011fu saptanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
