Abstract: <\/strong> \u0130stanbul has been focus of research interest since the city has the most dense population of Turkey as an attractive city for migration. The aim of the study is to find out who migrates to Istanbul in terms of socio-demographical factors on rural, district and urban levels. Data set of this study was drawn from Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics in Turkish Workforce Survey 2015. For the migration model, first binomial logit (individual migrated\/not migrated); then multinomial logit model were applied. Having migrated to Istanbul within last ten years is the dependent variable. There are four categories; migration from urban, from district, from rural and not migrated. \u201cLarge cities pull younger people, push older people\u201d hypotheses was confirmed with the results of binomial logit model. The results also reveal that workers from the construction sector are more inclined to migrate. Moreover, as education level increases the probability of migration to Istanbul is positively but decreasingly affected.<\/p>\n

\u00d6z: <\/strong> Ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6\u00e7 ile \u00e7ekici bir g\u00f6\u00e7 destinasyonu olarak T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin en fazla n\u00fcfusuna sahip olan \u0130stanbul g\u00f6\u00e7 ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131n\u0131n ilgi oda\u011f\u0131n\u0131 olu\u015fturmaktad\u0131r. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n amac\u0131 \u0130stanbul\u2019a g\u00f6\u00e7 edenlerin; k\u00f6y, il\u00e7e ve il d\u00fczeyinde, kim oldu\u011funu, sosyo-demografik fakt\u00f6rler a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan ortaya koymakt\u0131r. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmada T\u00fcrkiye \u0130\u015fg\u00fcc\u00fc Ara\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131 2015 ham verilerinden yararlanarak \u0130statistiki B\u00f6lge Birimleri S\u0131n\u0131flamas\u0131ndan \u0130stanbul verileri \u00e7ekilmi\u015ftir. G\u00f6\u00e7 modeli i\u00e7in \u00f6nce iki durumlu (birey g\u00f6\u00e7 etmi\u015f\/etmemi\u015f) ard\u0131ndan \u00e7ok durumlu logit model uygulanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bireylerin son on y\u0131lda \u0130stanbul\u2019a g\u00f6\u00e7 etmesi ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131 de\u011fi\u015fkendir. \u0130lden, il\u00e7eden, k\u00f6y-bucaktan \u0130stanbul\u2019a g\u00f6\u00e7 edip etmedi\u011fi ile g\u00f6\u00e7 etmemi\u015f bireylerden olu\u015fan d\u00f6rt kategori mevcuttur. \u0130stanbul\u2019a g\u00f6\u00e7 etme olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 veren iki durumlu logit modelden elde edilen sonu\u00e7lar ile \u201cb\u00fcy\u00fck kentler gen\u00e7 n\u00fcfusu \u00e7ekmekte, daha ya\u015fl\u0131 n\u00fcfusu itmektedir\u201d hipotezi desteklenmektedir. Bir di\u011fer \u00f6nemli bulgu, in\u015faat sekt\u00f6r\u00fcnde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fanlar\u0131n g\u00f6\u00e7 etme olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n daha fazla oldu\u011fudur. Ayr\u0131ca, bireylerin e\u011fitim seviyesi artt\u0131k\u00e7a g\u00f6reli olarak \u0130stanbul\u2019a g\u00f6\u00e7 olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n pozitif y\u00f6nde fakat giderek azald\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fclmektedir..<\/p>\n
