The post-truth concept, which has come to the fore frequently in recent years, is at the center of these discussions. According to the Oxford Dictionary\u2019s definition, post-truth, which means that public opinion is defined by personal feelings and beliefs rather than objective facts, has become a concept that academic studies have also focused on. The concept, which is dealt with in the context of more fake news, distortion of reality and making the public irrational choices in this way, seems to be problematic.<br \/>\nThe basic claim of this study is that the concept of post-truth cannot be defined as the manipulating of public opinion by fake and distorted news. In this context, the conceptual discussion constitutes the method of the study. The technological determinist approach, which claims that the medium determines the truth perception of the age, constitutes the theoretical basis of the debate. The result obtained from the discussion is that postmodernism\u2019s attitude which rejects the existence of truth stems from the structure of electronic media and that the concept of post-truth should be defined as loss of truth, not as a distortion of truth in this context.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><strong>Keywords: <\/strong>Post-truth, Postmodernism, Technological determinism, Social media, Loss of the truth.<\/p>\n<h1>Hakikatin Yitimi Olarak Post-Truth: Bir Kavramsalla\u015ft\u0131rma Denemesi<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><strong>Ahmet G\u00fcven<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><strong>\u00d6z: <\/strong>\u0130leti\u015fim ara\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n yap\u0131s\u0131ndaki b\u00fcy\u00fck d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcm, etik tart\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 da beraberinde getirmi\u015ftir. Son y\u0131llarda s\u0131kl\u0131kla g\u00fcndeme gelmeye ba\u015flayan post-truth kavram\u0131 bu tart\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n oda\u011f\u0131nda yer almaktad\u0131r. Oxford Dictionary\u2019nin yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 tan\u0131ma g\u00f6re kamuoyunun nesnel olgulardan ziyade ki\u015fisel duygu ve inan\u00e7lar taraf\u0131ndan belirlenmesi anlam\u0131na gelen post-truth, akademik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n da \u00fczerinde durdu\u011fu bir kavram haline gelmi\u015ftir. Daha \u00e7ok yalan haber, ger\u00e7ekli\u011fin \u00e7arp\u0131t\u0131lmas\u0131 ve bu yolla kamuoyunun irrasyonel tercihler yapmas\u0131 \u00e7er\u00e7evesinde ele al\u0131nan kavram bu haliyle problemli g\u00f6r\u00fcnmektedir.<br \/>\nBu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n temel iddias\u0131 post-truth kavram\u0131n\u0131n, yalan ve \u00e7arp\u0131tma haberlerle kamuoyunun y\u00f6nlendirilmesi \u015feklinde tan\u0131mlanamayaca\u011f\u0131d\u0131r. Bu ba\u011flamda yap\u0131lan kavramsal tart\u0131\u015fma \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n y\u00f6ntemini de te\u015fkil etmektedir. \u0130leti\u015fim ara\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n (medium) \u00e7a\u011f\u0131n hakikat alg\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 belirledi\u011fi iddias\u0131nda olan teknolojik determinist yakla\u015f\u0131m tart\u0131\u015fman\u0131n teorik zemini olu\u015fturmaktad\u0131r.
