\nIn Covid-19 epidemic, in USA, the public information requirement has increased the social media use level by citizens and the mass media, and the focus of the news production process is based on the federal government\u2019s pandemic activities. The focus of this study is the argument that economic-political and ideological differences affect news channels\u2019 presentation of the government\u2019s work on the pandemic. The aim of the study is to reveal the effect of the political economy of the media on the information flow on Twitter during the Covid-19 crisis period and determine similarities and differences of CNN and Fox News channels. In this context, content with the highest level of interaction about government\u2019s anti-epidemic activities, were analyzed with the critical discourse analysis method on the Twitter accounts of CNN and Fox News between March and April 2020. As a result of the analysis, it is found out that D. Trump and the Government\u2019s Outbreak Management Performance was presented as \u201csuccessful and positive\u201d in Fox News, \u201cunsuccessful and negative\u201d in CNN and the discursive difference of the news is related to the ideological, economic and political structure of the mass media.<\/p>\n

Covid-19 salg\u0131n\u0131nda, ABD\u2019de, halk\u0131n haber alma ihtiyac\u0131n\u0131n artmas\u0131; yurtta\u015flar\u0131n ve kitle ileti\u015fim ara\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n sosyal medya kullan\u0131m d\u00fczeyini artt\u0131rm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r ve haber \u00fcretim s\u00fcrecinin odak noktas\u0131 federal h\u00fck\u00fcmetin salg\u0131nla m\u00fccadele faaliyetleri \u00fczerine temellenmi\u015ftir. Ekonomik-politik ve ideolojik farkl\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131n, haber kanallar\u0131n\u0131n h\u00fck\u00fcmetin pandemiyle ilgili y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fc\u011f\u00fc \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 sunu\u015f bi\u00e7imini etkiledi\u011fi sav\u0131, bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n temel \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f noktas\u0131n\u0131 olu\u015fturmaktad\u0131r. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n amac\u0131 ise, Covid-19 krizi d\u00f6neminde medyan\u0131n ekonomi politi\u011finin Twitter\u2019da enformasyon ak\u0131\u015f\u0131ndaki etkisini ortaya koyarak; CNN ve Fox News kanallar\u0131n\u0131n siyasal haberleri sunum bi\u00e7imi benzerlik ve farkl\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 belirlemektedir. Bu ba\u011flamda, Mart-Nisan 2020 tarih aral\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, CNN ve Fox News\u2019in Twitter hesaplar\u0131nda h\u00fck\u00fcmetin salg\u0131nla m\u00fccadele faaliyetlerini i\u00e7eren, en y\u00fcksek etkile\u015fim d\u00fczeyine sahip i\u00e7erikler, ele\u015ftirel s\u00f6ylem analizi y\u00f6ntemi ile \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcmlenmi\u015ftir. Analiz sonucunda, Fox News\u2019in haberlerinde D. Trump ve H\u00fck\u00fcmetin Salg\u0131n Y\u00f6netimi Performans\u0131n\u0131n \u201cba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 ve olumlu\u201d; CNN haberlerinde ise \u201cba\u015far\u0131s\u0131z ve olumsuz\u201d sunuldu\u011fu ve haberlerin s\u00f6ylemsel farkl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n kitle ileti\u015fim ara\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n ideolojik, iktisadi ve siyasal yap\u0131s\u0131 ile ba\u011flant\u0131l\u0131 oldu\u011fu sonucuna ula\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n
