Abstract: <\/strong> Founded in 1946, the Democrat Party made promises of democratization before coming to power. Some of these promises were made to the press. Many of the media organizations at that time responded to these promises and supported the Democrat Party. With the Press Law amended after they came to power, journalists and press organizations were able to do journalism freely for a while. However, thanks to the different laws enacted in the following periods and the amendments made to the Press Law, the possibility of journalists to broadcast freely has disappeared. It is known that many journalists were imprisoned during the Democrat Party period and many media outlets were closed for various periods. Akis Magazine, which is the subject of this study, started its publication life in 1954. It followed an impartial publishing policy in the first issues. However, Akis Magazine, which followed an opposing publication policy in the following periods, started to set the agenda. Ancak ilerleyen d\u00f6nemlerde \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131lan farkl\u0131 yasalar ve Bas\u0131n Kanunu \u00fczerinde yap\u0131lan de\u011fi\u015fiklikler vas\u0131tas\u0131yla gazetecilerin \u00f6zg\u00fcrce yay\u0131n yapma olana\u011f\u0131 ortadan kalkm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Demokrat Parti d\u00f6neminde bir\u00e7ok gazetecinin hapse girdi\u011fi ve bir\u00e7ok bas\u0131n kurulu\u015funun \u00e7e\u015fitli s\u00fcrelerle kapat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 bilinmektedir. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n konusu olan Akis Dergisi de 1954 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131n hayat\u0131na ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u0130lk say\u0131larda tarafs\u0131z bir yay\u0131nc\u0131l\u0131k politikas\u0131 izlemi\u015ftir. Ancak ilerleyen d\u00f6nemlerde muhalif bir yay\u0131n politikas\u0131 izleyen Akis Dergisi, g\u00fcndem belirlemeye ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
